Yeah pay less skilled guys. That BS thought process is exactly why no one is becoming a Machinist anymore. Shops begging skilled guys to come work for them. what happens when this generation of Machinists are gone? You can just have the machine run itself. We will see how that goes.
I've spent the last two weeks looking for that carbide extension. Could you please post a link to it? Or the manufacturer.
call "Live Tools" Australia....i believe is called Jin Lin
Thanks for keeping it real. I like the informal vids. Our Toolroom just purchased an Okuma Genos m560 mill and Genos 3000 lathe. Quite the step up from our usual Prototrack lathes and Accurite cnc Bridgeports! Lol. Love em. Gives us veterans and even our apprentices something to get excited about. 😂👍
Thanks for the vid, are you a Fusion guy or a Solidworks guy?
Bro could you imagine accidentally opening the garage door with the Z axis all the way up? 😂 😬 Although it doesn't look like you have an automatic opener....
ha ha....no opener.....and its latched. but if it came up that would suck
Thank you for your time and shared knowledge, great content and sound, appreciate the honesty, a lot to learn.
I think these videos are actually the best because it is real. You can also make some shorts , just clips from machining, at least i like those type of shorts...
hello, keep it up dude
I am running a pokeys57cnc and mach3 on windows10 with the A-axis slaved to the Y-axis with both Y and A having their own drivers, motors, and limit switches to enable auto-squaring. Everything worked as it should when I used the keyboard to control it, but when I used a pendant in continuous jog mode, the Y-axis moves in both directions as it should, but the A-axis only moved in one direction racking the gantry. When mach3 is in step mode, everything moves in the right directions using the pendant. I first was trying to use an x-box controller, and it had this problem. I thought it had something to do with the x-box plugin, so I bought an iMach3 P4-S Pendant. It had the same problem. I removed and re-installed mach3 and went through all the settings, and the problem persisted. I asked VistaCNC if they knew of a solution. They wrote a modified plugin that corrected the problem. Now I have a fully functional system thanks to their support. The benefit to all this is not just that I can use a pendant with my system, but the pendant is really awesome. The P4-S pendant gives precise control of the machine much better than the keyboard. If you run this configuration, you will have this problem. The imach pendant is incredible, and vistacnc supports their product which is really rare these days.
Syil sells a T5 and T7 machines . They are tap drill centers . Huge travels x600,x700 compared to S7 , Rapids are 48m/min. .i know they wont luimp off metal as well as a T7 though. Did they ever sell any anywhere ?? Searched for vids there is nothing except by syil itself. M/C weights are wrong in their own adverts 4500kg is not 4500 lbs. Communications with China is not good. I asked about unlocked parameters and was told the if door unlocked the program will stop . hmmm
6 year old video and it still totally helped me. Thanks man!
2 Years later, what did you end up deciding? Similar machine discussions happening over here.
It's good practice to set the end stop close to the centre of the reference face. It helps with future referencing and negates any out of squareness.
An X7 is a hobby mill? Damn.
The drill your using and the drill you posted the ad on is two different drills. The post one is variable speed and I think different hp. Just pointing that out because the ad one is much better for like slowing down the cuts.
maybe they changed the link. thanks
@@NerdlyCNC no worries, I only noticed because I'm looking to buy the one on your add. Thanks for your review!
What kind of tool was that and also what is the Ø?
Paper clip trick! Good one!
This deserves way more thumbs up. Great vid
I think I must be the only person who doesn't like retracts for linking moves on adaptive toolpaths....I keep my tool down and set a small lift and set the non cutting moves to like 200ipm, seems quicker than retracts and rapids and plunges....🤷🏻♂️
12:50 yay
Looks like a YG-1 tool
I also have a super mini mill , a good machine but I won't ever buy another HAAS , the controller is too locked down , you can't even access such essential parameters as spindle encoder setting which you must change when a belt is changed. The only option is to get a tech out to set it for you at HUGE cost if no Hfo near you .
I have an older yellow table top X5 that I bought and want to get set up this summer. Mine has a 24K rpm spindle and runs off mach 3. I have not ran this machine yet. I think the new X5 enclosed minimill setups are sweet, but they are $24k and I think my mill new was around $10K and much more like a Tormach CNC, but with Hiwin bearings and ball screws. Can you compare the differences in the old yellow X5 vs the new X5? Do they use any of the same components? Can you upgrade an old X5 to a newer X5 in your opinion?
Ball mills like the bottom up tool path so you remove most of the material with the side of the flute rather than the tip
I’m having an issue with a G73 drill cycle on my syil x7 with the syntec control. Watching your videos you seem to have a pretty good handle on the syil. Problem is this. When trying to execute a G73 instead of the drill saying I. The hole and only retracting like .100 above the last z position it comes all the way out to about .460 above the part then feeds back down to depth and repeats this but each time it comes less above the part. Like it’s backwards from what it’s supposed to be doing. But it does a G81 fine and if I just change the 73 to a 83 it runs the G83 perfectly. I’m at a loss. I’ve never had a machine do this before. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you
This is amazing. I was going to purchase the 5th Axis quick locator. This is way better. Pricing is great too. Bought immediately after seeing this. Thank you for sharing.
These little everyday task can eat your lunch on a new machine. Good idea to make these vids.
Thanks just received my new p4-s after watching your video. Nice bit of kit. Had to dail my cnc in after using the new pendent. It made it so easy. Working to hundreds of a mill on my 6040 cnc I'm out 0.003 of a mm so I'm good at 0.00 of a millimeter. It's the cnc not the pendent. Thanks again
Really well made video...Unboxing was great and so were the attention to details etc. Well done...
Super incredible tip...
I always had the urge to make hop up options like this for tamiya. can't find an aluminium version of anything here.
Get usb wifi adapter and make okuma wireless
we did...its on the network as "MD1"
always good ideas! thanks.
Here's my comment. Since you never put out another video regarding the 60/40 CNC mill I am unsubscribing from this channel because it was totally a bait-and-switch
I run a similar 60/40 but was having problems with the interface which was the big multi-pin that required a trip translator from multi-pin to a four-pin converter but life is funny like that
Send it :D you can go way faster in ally, especially if your only making 1 part at a time.
Huh? You speed up for Production. I don’t think Risking breaking a tool or ripping the stock out of the fixture is worth saving 2 minutes on a 10 part
@NerdlyCNC then you can run into issues when you speed it up.... Thats why your best just to send it. Use methods you know work and you'll gey good results. I've worked as a programmer and machine setter/runner. These jobs are easy when you know how :D
awesome poor mans 5th axis! very neat idea!
Rich asshole problems
Awesome video, how are you liking the tm op vs the syil so far
I like them both. The syil is a higher quality machine and Haas is easier to use.
What spindle do you have on this - it sounds a lot faster than the 6000RPM max on my TM1P Your cuts are much cleaner than ours - could you list tools and speeds? The Moreside seems very interesting
Great video and when your ready to move out of California and move your business to Texas please look me up. Love to help make your move a success
This ™ sounds like it is running at 10k rpm.
it does :)
Nice work!! I’ve been using a redneck 90 deg bracket with RL52 bases (face of platter and flat of bracket similar to Moreside) and love the flexibility it provides;…… tabbing off for near one and done is a consistent favorite way to make parts
AWESOME
You are awesome, man!
Great work Jay! Always providimg food for thought. Cheers from Oz!!
Hey, the CAT40 tapping heads that CME tools sells with quick change adapters are pretty good. At my job we use Bilz style quick change tapping heads and they are a slight improvement over using an ER collet to hold a tap. Just thought I’d mention it here because sometimes tooling suggestions can’t be trusted if someone is trying to sell you something. Your past suggestions with the Mitsubishi ASX 445 and MMM vise jaws have been great!
thank you. interesting. i need to get a quick change tapping set up one of these days.
I noticed your cooling bit liquid is like a mist. I use to go to a machine shop at night where my Dad worked. I'd watch the guys on cnc and their nozzles was poring out the coolant. Have they come to a conclusion where more is not always better??
I used mist when I want to film so the camera can see the cutting action.
